Aphid wolves can kill about 100 to 500 aphids every day

They use the camouflage on its back to hide form ants

They use curved, hollow jaws called maxillae to inject venom into prey and then drain their body fluids

This is the larva state of a Lacewing

Adult lacewings lay eggs on top of thin hair-like silk stalks to prevent the larvae from eating their siblings

They also eat mites, whiteflies, and mealybugs

Adult crane flies only live for a few days to two weeks

They are often found near moisture and are attracted to lights at night

They only live for a few days to two weeks

They also carry no diseases

Dragonflies are considered the best hunters, only African wild dogs come close hunting in packs of 7 to 20

They are prey to birds, flycatchers, swallows, kingfishers, falcons and kites

Only dragonfly species with larva thats not fully aquatic, they can take two years to fully develop

Nearly 360 degree vision

​They are considered rare on the S3 watchlist in Maryland, and are a species of special concern in New York
